FAQ

USE

For which area of application is the Swiss Eco Tap suitable?
A cold water fitting is not suitable for all applications. In certain areas, such as the kitchen or bathroom, where hot water is needed, a hot water tap is indispensable.

INSTALLATION

Connection to a cold and hot water pipe
Swiss Eco Tap is designed for cold water use and therefore has only one connection pipe for cold water.

A cold water tap has the advantage that it is usually easier to install and requires less maintenance than a hot water tap. Since it does not have to provide hot water, it also eliminates the need for a hot water connection and a boiler or instantaneous water heater. This can save space and energy.

When replacing with a mixed water fitting, a bypass is needed to bypass the hot water pipe, otherwise legionella can form.

Can the spray technology from the Swiss Eco Tap, e.g. EcoJet or EcoTwist, be used in an installed standard fitting by replacing the mouthpiece?
This is not possible. Swiss Eco Tap mouthpieces have a special thread that does not fit on a standard fitting.

Tap dripping
Several causes can cause this problem:

Worn seals
The seals inside the tap can wear out and leak over time, causing water to run through and the tap to drip.

Calcification
If the water in your area is very hard, limescale can build up inside the tap and obstruct the flow of water. This can cause the tap to leak and start dripping.

Defective valves
In some cases, a defective valve can cause the tap to leak and start dripping.

Loose parts
such as the screws, can cause the tap to leak and start dripping.

If your tap is dripping, it may be advisable to contact a professional to fix the problem, especially if you do not have the necessary knowledge or tools to solve the problem yourself.

Low water pressure
If the water pressure from the tap is too low, this may be due to blockages or problems with the water supply. It can also be due to problems with the ventilation of the tap or the pipes.

Clogged taps
If rust or other impurities occur in the tap, this can lead to blockages and other problems. It can also cause the tap to stop working properly.

Leaking connections
If the connections between the tap and the pipe are leaking, this can lead to leaks.

INTERFERENCE

LED FLASHES RED CONSTANTLY (only pillar tap IR-Sensor)
Battery power low – change batteries (only AA 1.5V Lithium Longlife).

No response of the electronics (only pillar tap IR-Sensor)
Vandal protection activated? Fouled infrared sensor due to permanent shadow, e.g. chewing gum. If YES: Fitting switches to „Autostop“ after 30 sec. of continuous flow. RESTART: Remove the object. See START-UP – function test.

No water or too little

  • Angle valve closed?
  • Flex hose twisted or kinked?
  • Nozzle blocked? Dismantle with special tool, clean the nozzle (brush off, possibly
soak in vinegar overnight) and reassemble it (Special thread!)

Pillar tap IR-Sensor

  • Sensor gefoult? Siehe «Elektronik spricht nicht an»
  • Solenoid valve defective or flter blocked? Call a specialist!
